Program Overview
General Information
The School of Health Professions is dedicated to educating students in grades 9 - 12 in a variety of high-demand health care fields and empowering them to make informed college and career choices.
The school serves an ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse student population. It offers a college preparatory curriculum in conjunction with a career and technology component that prepares students for college and the workforce through state-of-the-art equipment, up-to-date practices, and innovative programs. Both curricula are designed to meet the challenges of the new millennium. Students are encouraged and challenged to pursue higher academic pursuits through the Recommended or Distinguished Achievement Graduation Plans. These requirements coincide with the school's and district's college-bound mission.
The School of Health Professions is unique in that it provides students with practical experience through internships at various health-care facilities that coincide with the cluster they have chosen to study. Students participate in these internships while maintaining high academic standards.
